There is something wholesome and attractive with a well laid-out herbalistary, and Cordoba’s Delicias del Califato situated by the must-see Mosque-Cathedral and the Alcazar of the Christian Kings is an example in the same league as those I visited recently in Toronto and Nice.
A cheerful expert, fine aromas, and specialist pottery to brew the exotic makes you want to believe that there is health in them thar herbs despite a paucity of hard evidence for their efficacy.
I still prefer my Camelia sinensis brew (common or garden tea which is often called English Breakfast Tea) or my Chinese tea (green tea) to all others as my cure-all and health-drink, but if you like to experiment with those on offer as add-ons, why not? Just be careful and knowledgeable about which herbs you are taking. A few are toxic and to be avoided. Some interact with other medicines. For lowering cholesterol, for Parkinson disease and similar serious indications, better validated orthodox medicines, many derived from plants (see our previous posts on the periwinkle, the foxglove, the poppy, the yew tree, and the oyster and psychedelic mushrooms, are available (searchable through keywords).
